An average annual daytime temperature stays around 24 to 29 degrees Celsius (75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. In Barbados the sun shines almost 8 to 10 hours every day from November to March. Even in the wet season the average sun shine timing is 8 to 9 hours every day. As, Barbados is situated at far eastern location, this is why it always got spared from the worst impact of tropical storms. However, Barbados climate gets affected and becomes rainy due to the hurricane at Caribbean. The heavy rainfall at Barbados can only be expected during the hurricane season. Tropical rain storm stays at Barbados from June to October. Usually, the experience of tropical rains is magnificent. Island it porous and even the heavy rain fall drains off quickly because the water runs into the underground lakes and seas.

On an average, the chances of a hurricane strike are about once in every 26 years. The hurricane Janet was the most powerful hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane which came in 1955.
